LA’s Sweet Gloom don’t care much about anything besides rock and roll, the death of fascism, and falling in and out of love as fast as possible. Their songs bring together old-school crooner melodies, big hooks, and fast, lovesick punk, like Elvis fronting the Ramones in the middle of a doomed Hollywood romance. The band have now released their new single, Stargazer, that is taken from their upcoming full length, No Love Lost, that is due out on August 21st via Sneak Dog Records. The track is about falling for someone who seems destined for something bigger. The kind of person with the drive to chase their dreams, and the talent to actually make it there. It’s about loving someone not in spite of the fact that they might leave you behind one day, but knowing that they probably will, and hoping that maybe, if you can meet them somewhere in the stars, you still have a chance.
No Love Lost will feature ten tracks of energetic, big-hearted romantic wreckage, delivered with the same signature sha-la-la sweetness that makes even their most nihilistic moments feel romantic. Recorded at District Recording in San Jose and produced by Ryan Perras, No Love Lost tears through ten tracks of crushes, bad timing, giving up, losing your mind, falling too hard, and trying to outrun feelings that already caught you. Sweet Gloom will be performing at The FEST this Fall, they will also host their album release show on August 28th in Los Angeles, with more details to be announced.
