Answering a Facebook ad looking to form “Banff’s best punk band” seemed like a ‘no-brainer’ for guitarist Gerry Roy and bassist Brian MacEachern in 2017.  While that project quickly fizzled out, it started a friendship, that would eventually include drummer Mitch McCallum, that led to the formation of Regal Foul. The band have today released that their brand new album, This Inferno Is So Mesmerizing, via High End Denim Records. The album is a crafted tale of defeat and introspection emerging into self-acceptance culminating in the solace of the Rocky Mountains.

Regal Foul

Outliving most bands that come and go in the outdoor tourist town of Banff, the members of Regal Foul are pillars in their local music scene. In 2024 Mitch opened Silent Canvas, offering private lessons, rehearsal space and recording several projects.  Later that same year, Gerry launched the Banff Punk Night monthly concert series that attracts interest in Banff’s music scene from around the world.
