St. Albans, UK’s Narcotic Hearts have released their new full length, Manufactured Tension, through streaming platforms and on CD and vinyl via Perfect Pop Co-op. The album features nine tracks of fuzzy, energetic new wave that nods sonically at early recordings from Buzzcocks and The Damned, with dark humour and a hint of glam, though the themes explored on Manufactured Tension are very much of the here and now.
“Our third album is about global change, the rise of AI, the proliferation of malign influencers on society … but it’s also about personal change and the failure of your own intimate hierarchy when you lose a cornerstone of your life, in whatever form that may be. In essence, it’s our take on how we, as ordinary individuals, navigate this period of disorientation, helplessness and change. We want people to know that, despite the current struggles, they’re not alone.”
