Los Angeles punk trio Moonraker are on the verge of having an absolute breakout year. Each single they’ve released leading up to their new album has gained more momentum than the previous one. With their previous success, there’s no doubt that their new single, Don’t Forget You’re Here Forever, will be joining the ranks soon. It’s a very personal and heartfelt song about what it takes to pursue a life in the Arts. Moonraker comes into this new single with an already established grassroots fanbase, a growing music catalog of hits, and a strong reputation within the independent punk scene.  These results have created additional momentum around the band’s new chapter, including several features on prominent editorial playlists. This added exposure has created even more excitement for their upcoming full-length. This is the band’s final single ahead of the release of their Punkerton Records debut full length, Me & The Bells, that will be released on October 9th when the band commence a US tour.

“I was listening to Marc Maron’s interview with Colin Hanks on WTF. He was talking about the moment he told his dad, Tom Hanks, that he wanted to be an actor. He said that his dad watched his work and sat him down and told him, “You know, you’re really good at this. If you really want to, I think you could have a career in acting. But you have to know that sometimes that’s gonna mean wanting something more than you’ve ever wanted something and feeling more rejection than you’ve ever felt when you don’t get it. If you think you can handle that a lot of the time, sometimes years on end, and are still able to put yourself out there, then by all means, go for it.” Something like that.  It really resonated with me and made me think of my, at the time, newborn daughter. What would I say to her if she ever told me she wanted to do what I do? Honestly, probably something similar to that. So I guess this song is sort of a love letter to my daughter and also to the guys in my band and to anyone attempting the Sisyphean-task of pursuing a life in the arts and to anyone listening. There’s an old episode of The Simpsons where after quitting his job at the nuclear plant, Homer is forced to go back to work there after his daughter Maggie is born, only to find that his boss has hung a big sign above his desk that says, “Don’t forget you’re here forever.” So he covers up a lot of the letters on the sign with pictures of Maggie and him so instead it says, “Do it for her.”” (drummer & vocalist David Green)
