Dundee’s David Delinquent & The IOUs are a power pop punk band fronted by songwriter David Delinquent (The Delinquents / Spacers / Football, Beer & Punk Rock Podcast) who mix classic ’77 punk with sharp melodies, big hooks and a distinctly Scottish edge while delivering energetic, no-nonsense anthems. The band have today released their eagerly awaited debut album, Scandal, that brings together the band’s punk attitude, power-pop hooks, and rock ‘n’ roll swagger, that is delivered with a distinctly Scottish character and delivers a full-length statement of intent. Scandal is now available through streaming platforms and on CD & vinyl via Elastic Stage.
Scandal is the culmination of everything David Delinquent & The IOUs have built so far as a band, the album explores individuality with influences ranging from The Wildhearts and Manic Street Preachers through to The Skids and Big Country. David Delinquent & The IOUs will be playing a brace of album release shows at Dundee’s Beat Generator on the 25th September and Edinburgh’s Banshee Labyrinth on the 26th September, with additional live shows to follow in Glasgow, Dunfermline and Aberdeen and further live dates to be confirmed.
“I honestly cannot wait for you guys to hear this. It’s the most excited I’ve ever been about any music I’ve ever released. I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved. It’s an absolute party record and I hope you all agree.” (David Delinquent)
