Lancaster, UK’s Punky Reggae power trio Vicious Bishop recently released thier debut full length, Raining Guillotines, that picked up where their debut EP, Miracle Formula 168, left off with ten high octane shots of Punk, Punky Reggae, and Ska Punk, with hints of Rocksteady and Hardcore, all maintaining the band’s dedication to crafting memorable melodies, and ear-grabbing arrangements. Following the success of their last single, I’m A Tiswas Kid (Trapped In A Swap Shop World), the band are back again with their new single, Take It As A Win, which features a duet with collaborator Andy Ellison (John’s Children / Radio Stars). Given that Take It As A Win is all about the pleasure, pain and adventures, both good and bad, that being in a band can provide, Ellison’s long musical journey and experiences were perfect to front the song.
“Any band that wants to survive in the 21st century needs a sense of humour, a passion for the music, realistic expectations, and a keen appreciation for their audience. The song is about how all of those elements are interlinked. Despite rip offs, bad breaks, and Spinal Tap moments, I’ve had some amazing experiences and made lifelong friendships with musicians from around the world over the year in the bands I’ve played with. I’ve never lost sight of the buzz I got at the first gig I played when I was 14, and it’s still at the heart of everything we do with Vicious Bishop.” (guitarist Rich Davenport)
