Hammond organ-fuelled grooves grazed with sandpaper guitars, stout basslines and earthquaking beats meet The Spitfires frontman and singer, Billy Sullivan’s impassioned insights into lonely self destruction on the band’s latest single, I’ll Never. Intoxicated by the outpourings of passionate belief that has met the band as they’ve toured through Spring and Summer this year, the latest track from their upcoming sixth album, MK II, deals with the headrush and crash of addiction. MK II will, be released on the 3rd October via Bellevue Music Recordings and the band will be on tour in the UK later this month.
“This track tells the story of someone who numbs their pain with alcohol and drugs instead of opening up about what they’re going through. These ‘vices’ are used as an escape, but the real issues never actually go away. There’s still a huge stigma, especially among men, around talking about mental health. I’m not preaching. I’m probably not all that different myself.” (Billy Sullivan)
