Austin, TX’s The Oxys are intent on wrangling fans out of their world weary despondency with their new studio album, Casting Pearls Before Swine, that is out today via Cleopatra RecordsThe Oxys began back in 2021 when Ginchy (Dead Boys) and frontman Phil Davis managed to smash the monotony of pandemic life by channeling their collective energy into music and creativity. By December of 2022, they put out their first full length record, A Date With The Oxys. Following much critical acclaim for their debut, they delivered Generation Irrelevant just twelve months later. With rhythm guitarist Genocide, bassist Michael Harpel and newest addition drummer Logan Flaherty, the band is ready to hit the road in 2025. You can view The Oxys upcoming US tour dates here. The band have also released the video for Eaten Alive that depicts a lurid Southern gothic scene of violence and depravity, and a legend sealed in blood and myth. Eaten Alive is the true-crime inspired tale of Joe Ball, the infamous ‘Butcher of Elmendorf‘ who allegedly fed victims to his alligators.

“Writing lyrics for this record allowed me to delve into complex themes like compulsion, toxic relationships, and an intense, almost cinematic killer vibe, highlighted by the haunting true crime story of my Great Uncle Joe Ball, also known as the Butcher of Elmendorf. The universal tension between human acts that harm, and yet stimulate us, is something I wanted to explore. My aim was to capture raw emotion and make it resonate powerfully with listeners.” (frontman Phil Davis)
