New York-based Folk-Punk collective The Dreadnoughts have released their new single, Tarantella Bang Boom, the track is the final preview of their upcoming full-length, Polka Pit, that is due out on September 19th via Punkerton Records. A heartfelt Folk-Punk ballad, Tarantella Bang Boom tells the story of Stefanina Moro, a teenage courier for the Italian Resistance during World War II. Captured and tortured by Nazi forces, she refused to betray her comrades, a defiance that helped the Resistance continue the fight. The song is both tribute and reminder: courage can take many forms, and even the smallest acts can echo for generations. With its mix of traditional tarantella rhythms and the band’s signature punk grit, Tarantella Bang Boom underscores The Dreadnoughts‘ unique ability to fuse historical storytelling with high-energy musicianship.

“Stefanina Moro was part of the Italian resistance during the Nazi occupation. This song is a tribute to her life, her death, and to those who picked up the flag afterwards and got the job done.” (vocalist Nicholas Smyth)
