Cherry Red Records have announced they will release a double CD 34 track chronological round up of The Singles, including every A and B-side, issued by Skids between 1978 and 1981, including the hit singles Sweet Suburbia, The Saints Are Coming, Into The Valley, Masquerade, Charade, Working For The Yankee Dollar, Animation, Circus Games, Goodbye Civilian and Woman In Winter. The release is also accompanied by a booklet containing in depth liner notes overseen by The Skids official website. Still led by vocalist Richard Jobson, The Skids are still touring and will be appearing at Bellahouston Park Punk Festival, Stone Valley Midlands Festival and Stone Valley North Festival as well as a run of Summer headline shows.

The Skids remain a popular band with their songs maintaining popularity over four decades after their release. Into The Valley is played at every home game by UK football clubs Charlton Athletic, Bradford City and, the band’s home town club, Dunfermline Athletic; it was also famously used in the iconic Maxell Tapes advert. The Saints Are Coming was covered in 2006 by U2 & Green Day for a benefit single for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
