Bay Area punk outfit Primitive Heads have released their debut seven song record, Beak Wyatt!, that is available through streaming platforms and on vinyl via Strange Club Records. Formed in the wake of the pandemic, Primitive Heads bring together longtime collaborators Kyle Lindauer, Luke Ray and Alex Alcantra-Kouninos with John Bonnel (Swingin’ Utters), whose unmistakable vocals take on a fresh and unexpected dimension. The band’s sound is rooted in early ’90s Californian Punk, but twisted through alternative edges, shifting tempos, and unpredictable dynamics. Lyrically, Beak Wyatt! captures the band’s unique voice: poetic, gritty, and asymmetrical with outward-facing songs that ricochet from anxiety spirals and cinematic escapes to ulcerous black coffee confessions.

“This record came from a flood of ideas we couldn’t ignore. It’s urgent, electric, and a little sideways, the kind of record we didn’t know we wanted to hear ourselves.” (Kyle Lindauer)
