Garage Rock ’n’ Roll trio Perfect Buzz are back with Happy Trails, the first EP featuring the poppin’ combo’s new lineup. Patrick “Petey” Foss (Pure Country Gold / Suicide Notes) has brought in Rip City mainstays Luke Von Mohr (The Gimmicks / Tiger Touch) and Wes Garcia (Desir / Quando Quando Quando) on drums and bass, respectively. The pair has lit a fire under the band, and their relentless live shows have made them a standout in Portland’s Garage Punk underground. Following hot on the heels of the Supermassive Superstar EP, Perfect Buzz have found their sound with the Happy Trails EP that is out today on CD and digital formats with a limited 10” vinyl release to follow on January 16th.

Yes, Happy Trails is a no-frills ride through angry guitars a la Mudhoney or The Drags, and there are undoubtedly echoes of Petey’s longtime punk-blues duo Pure Country Gold, but the band’s songwriting is the x-factor in this four-song banger. The genius Post-Punk approach from Hüsker Dü, The Jam and Mission of Burma bleeds through the rock solid rhythm.
