The Foreign Dissent Festival returns for its milestone 10th anniversary, continuing its tradition of bringing punk bands from outside the US to Orlando, Florida for one special night. This year’s event features ten bands from six countries, with many of the bands performing their very first show in the United States. Founded in 2014, Foreign Dissent is a DIY punk showcase rooted in community, discovery, and international connection that will take place on October 20th at Will’s Pub in Orlando. You can purchase tickets and find out more about the Foreign Dissent Festival here.

The 2025 lineup features 10 bands who have shared a little bit about themselves:
Germinar (Chile)
“Four friends from the south of the world come together to face the midlife crisis by playing music for racing hearts — melodic punk, sometimes furious, sometimes reflective. Like grass pushing through cracks in the pavement, they still believe noise can heal all wounds.”
Sunliner (England) – Returning after performing at FD8 (2023)
“SUNLINER are gruff punk rock from Leeds. For fans of Hot Water Music, Against Me! and Simpsons references. Really excited to be back; Foreign Dissent was one of our highlights last time we came over!”
Swear (Italy) – First U.S. show
“A four-piece shoegaze band from Genoa. Expect very low-volume vocals but very high emotions. Get your earplugs ready for the wall of guitars.”
LEXT (Japan) – First Japanese band at FD
“A skate punk band from Tokyo. Catchy yet aggressive. In January, we released our new album FLASHBACK, a 10-track collection that sums up our style so far.”
Harker (England) – First U.S. show
“Since 2015, we’ve released two full-length albums through Wiretap Records, Paper + Plastick, and Fixing A Hole. 2025 brings our third LP and our first American shows.”
Back Teeth (England) – First U.S. show
“Like a hangover with harmony. Big choruses, bad decisions, and songs about how everything’s getting worse but we’re still making the best of it.”
Descartes A Kant (Mexico) – First Mexican band at FD
“An experimental rock band blending punk, metal, pop, shoegaze, and cabaret. Our live shows are theatrical and wild. WSJ called us ‘loud, racy, incredibly imaginative… as if the Yeah Yeah Yeahs fronted Albert Ayler with Frank Zappa conducting.’”
Toodles & The Hectic Pity (England) – First show outside the UK
“Folk-punk-emo from Bristol. Heart-extremely-on-sleeve music FFO The Mountain Goats with more fuzz. Releasing music via Specialist Subject Records.”
Modern Shakes (England) – First U.S. show
“Midwest-style orgcore with big choruses and modern punk energy. Our debut LP A Bolt from the Blue dropped in 2024. Looking forward to partying in Orlando—and tracking down Florida Man.”
Small State (Germany)
“Foreign Dissent is such a marquee showcase for us and we cannot wait to take the stage in Orlando. We are keen on meeting new people and making new friends. Love – Small State.”
