Coming out of the Western Massachusetts hardcore scene are HOLDER, channeling the greatness of ’90s and early 00’s screamo and post-hardcore through a modern lens. Forming in 2024, the band released their self-titled EP that Summer to immense response and soon found themselves playing shows alongside Static Dress, Balmora, Febuary, skycamefalling, and more. Today the band release absolute frenzy with their two song EP, Ruin The Best Of Me, via DAZE Records.
Inconsolable drives from feedback and chants into a two minute crusher as vocalist Brie‘s fervent screams run over rhythmic riffs that lead into melodic dissonance. The track gets a music video, filmed and edited by Company Car, showcasing the intense energy of the band’s live show. The title track is an emotional rollercoaster taking influence from bands such as Neil Perry, This Day Forward, and early Underoath. The song is a spin-kicker’s paradise before reaching an experimental reprieve and ending in a cathartic scream along.
