Gloria Mundi were a new wave band in the UK in the late 1970s who regularly appeared at the Marquee, Roxy, Vortex and Music Machine. The band released two albums, 1978’s I.Individual and 1979’s The Word Is Out, via RCA Records, which until now have only previously existed on long out of print vinyl. Frontman and songwriter Eddie Maelov has now now digitally remastered the albums which are now available through streaming platforms and as name your price downloads via Bandcamp.

“Mick Mercer, music journalist of the time (Melody Maker, Record Mirror, ZigZag) has recently said this about us “My speciality in music is Goth and I’ve been telling people since the late 80’s that you were the first Goth band. Bauhaus certainly admitted to me that they got their act together visually and in terms of stagecraft after supporting you at the Marquee…..Not many bands can claim to have influenced Bauhaus! If people can’t see a direct correlation between your sound and what Sex Gang Children brought through in early 80’s they must be deaf.”” (Eddie Maelov)
