Philadelphia’s Dave Hause has today released his seventh album, …And The Mermaid, via SBÄM Records and Blood Harmony Records. The album was recorded at Vancouver, BC’s Rain City Recorders with Jesse Gander, the ten songs on …And The Mermaid deliver a welcome jolt to the system, a powerful rock record that blends Hause’s signature lyrical flair and knack for infectious melodies with his plaintive vocals and razor-sharp musical touches. After spending several years exploring and being warmly embraced by the Americana and singer-songwriter world, Hause had an epiphany while rewatching Goodfellas. Growing up in Philadelphia and now living in California, Hause realised he always longed to be part of a different kind of mafia.

“There’s that scene at the beginning where Henry Hill says, ‘For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster’. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be in a rock ‘n’ roll band. This record is my realization that for as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be in a rock ‘n’ roll band. This album is that rock ‘n’ roll band, distilled into 10 songs.” (Dave Hause)
