Curious Volume have announced that their new album, Nothing Is Good, will be self-released on November 14th. The eleven tracks move through bold dynamics and quirky transitions with lyrics tackling the ups and downs of adulthood. Curious Volume have now unveiled their ambitious new single, Try, the song will appeal to fans of bands like Weatherbox and Motion City Soundtrack with it’s swirling guitar lines, funky notes and high pitched vocals. The upbeat track celebrates the times in lives when doing nothing leads to success.
“‘Nothing Is Good’ is meant to be taken both positively and negatively: ‘everything sucks’ and ‘no news is good news.’ Both could be equally intense sensations, in opposite directions. The main common themes among the songs’ lyrics is the emphasis on humor and perspective. While certain songs go all-in on sarcasm-soaked nihilism in an ‘accepting defeat’ way, the album as a whole gives off the vibe of more of an overall appreciation for the things that puzzle us and don’t make obvious sense.”
