Bayonne, NJ Art Punks Crazy & The Brains have released a new video single, Catatonic Youth, that was produced by Pete Steinkopf (Bouncing Souls). The track is about living recklessly, and even nihilistically, as a youth. In the song, singer Chrisotph Jesus reflects back on those times and about how one can move beyond dangerous living while maintaining a fire for life in one’s psyche. In contrast to Fantasy, the band’s previous single, Catatonic Youth is a somber, folksy number that calls back to the band’s earliest coffee shop days. Right now, the band is recording a full length album with Tim Armstrong (Rancid) in LA, with another single expected to drop in later Summer / early Fall.

This song is about living reckless, carefree and selfishly as a trashy punk in NJ. Can’t lie it was fun af. We were losing kids though. Way too young. In various fucked up ways I’ll probably talk about in other songs. At some point you look in the mirror and say to yourself “Does my life matter?” If the answer is yes then you gotta start living accordingly. Show ur self the love and respect you deserve.” (Chrisotph Jesus)
