I work a corporate gig that is soul sucking and try to be generally chill outside of work. Got back into skateboarding in July for exercise and that has turned into an obsession that I would like to get more into except these fascist fucking pigs that have their hands on all the levers of power have seen to it that we have to focus on politics and on how we move forward when things change. So, here I sit in my not so desolate room, no music, just coffee and anger!! Tapping out this rant on a new forum. Thank you to whoever you are that created this space! This is akin to therapy
When I was coming up there was a saying, “The older you get, the more conservative you get.” Heh…not this human! Over the last few years I have been out here I have gotten more left leaning and in the US would be called a socialist commie, which of course is a bit humorous. I have been saying the same things in more tame ways since I was 15 years old. EVERYONE should just be able to live a humble and meaningful life as they choose, without fear of persecution. Regardless of where they were born or their genetic lottery pull. If you work a job, that job should afford you EVERYTHING you need to live that humble life, with some leisure also. That just doesn’t seem so controversial! But fuck me if a certain set of humans doesn’t think that’s the case. We have been so divided by design, that we will argue over the dumbest shit online. We have 1% of our population in the US or even the world that has more wealth than the entire 60% of the bottom of humans on the planet? I thought we were supposed to get hoverboards and flying cars, not late stage capitalism that has run SO rampant that corporations are now political entities and have more power than the civilians that are being governed. Fuck! I want phasers and medical devices that can cure every disease, not generative AI. I want people with reason and logic that understand if I say, Universal Healthcare and unionization, it’s because it will be a benefit for ALL the people, not just a select few. We have been sold the lie that rugged individualism is greater than community and it’s such bullshit! I want for my fellow humans, even the shitheads, to have basic levels of care, housing, and food as a default. Rather than having the general populace seen as “resources” to be fodder for the capitalist meat grinder. Rant over I suppose. Here’s to a restoration of power to the people. If we create a community and it can connect in the real world and we can link that community to others that are like minded, we can create the change we want to see.
I hope to be able to meet some of you like minded people IRL, unless your a Nazi. If that’s the case, Jello Biafra said it best, Nazi Punks, Fuck Off!!!
