In her time away from music, Beth Seymour didn’t stand still. Since coming out as transgender in early 2024, she has started unveiling the vault of music she created during her absence. Following on from the vulnerable solo single, Medication, earlier this year, Beth is now unleashing her powerhouse backing band, The Lizzies, on two new singles: Hellboy and Sam Raimi. Hellboy is a tale of gender dysphoria locked in the deepest, darkest recesses of your being, in contrast Sam Raimi is a love story set over the backdrop of Hollywood’s greatest filmmaker. Both tracks are taken from Beth Seymour’s upcoming, debut album that was recorded and mixed at her home studio in Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges.
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to finally be open and candid about my music. In the past, I could never truly express what I was trying to say. Now that the closet door has been kicked wide open, I get to speak my truth and, hopefully, create something that can resonate with other people with experiences like my own.” (Beth Seymour)
