Held over 5 days, running from Wednesday 20th – Sunday 24th May and in the beautiful surrounding of Catton Park Derbyshire. If you have never been to Bearded Theory Festival before or any festival for that matter, then this line-up will/should set your musical spidey senses tingling, every year this is by far one of the best moments in the musical landscape.
Being one of the biggest and best independent festivals that gives its attendees memories they can relive for a very long time, the atmosphere at Beared is one of togetherness and friendship, it conjures up a sense of belonging, it gives families, groups, couples, and solo festival goers a safe and comfortable environment to enjoy themselves. This year the team that works hard behind the scenes and brings all the magic to life in May have excelled in so many ways, from the headliners to the bottom of the list of artists and performers this is going to be something you just won’t want to miss, I mean just look at the diversity of the main stage Pixies, Garbage, and Skunk Anansie for goodness sake, then you get acts like CMAT an up and coming mega star non the less, The Damned who have been at the top of the Punk pile for over 40 years, Kae Tempest the poet of John Cooper Clarke standard and beyond. Picking through some of the stand out from The Punksite point of view there is Ferocious Dog, Kid Kapichi, Lambrini Girls, Peter Hook And The Light, we could go on……
But wait just a minute….. Is Bearded Theory all about the music? What does it bring other than stages like The Pallet, Meadow, Woodlands, Maui Waui, The Tea Tent, Convoy Cabaret, Coda, Knockdown Inn and not forgetting Big Ed, well lets see, try a huge kids/family area that’s dedicated to giving the children fun and education (yes they even have a school) whilst giving mums and dads some time to themselves, a comedy tent, a plethora of skills and making experiences in the Earth Zone, some of the best food and merchandise stalls all at great prices, and whilst all that is going on the staff throughout the vast site will be keeping you safe and joining in with the fun too.
So why choose Bearded Theory over any other festival you might ask, well last year we met up with The King Of Glastonbury (google him, he exists) and he simply said “this is the best kept secret in the festival world, Bearded is Glastonbury before it became too big”.
