Antillectual are taking back their language! The band is following suit with the politics of exclusion and fear of the foreign. After expressing themselves in the English language for over 20 years the band is taking a radical turn with an EP sung in Dutch. Antillectual feel urged to write songs in their mother tongue about local symptoms of the current global shift to the right. After every full length album Antillectual releases a concept EP. The band previously released exclusive EPs with covers and acoustic songs among other concepts. After some of their Netherpunk jingles went viral on TikTok this Dutch only release includes new original songs and some repurposed hits.

If Antillectual was a word Antillectueel would be the proper Dutch translation, the Antillectueel EP s out today on 7″ vinyl and through streaming platforms. The EP will help people process the recent election results with songs about the shift to the right, the Netherlands’ main populist, tax evasion, farmers protests and the like. Side A features 2 new tracks, side B is a mixed bag of pseudo covers, jingles and re-interpretations with everything topped off with infotaining samples.
