It feels like an absolute eternity since LoGOz have released some new material, but then not hearing from one of the North East’s number one bands for even a month or 2 is far too long. So getting the new EP, Method Is Madness, that is due out on 19th February dropping into the mail box was just what was needed at tough time of year in so many ways.

LoGOz

Hitting play for the first time on this EP your greeted with a somewhat Adam & The Ants drum beat kick off on the title track ‘Method Is Madness’, which is kind of no surprise as I do know the lead singer Peesh is a huge fan, but hearing that chugging guitar riff backing it up is however something you can always rely on from this rock/pop punk band. As it states on the PDF file we received with this release, this is also Schizofrantic Punk and boy does this EP live up to this, songs that live in the darkness that surrounds you when the world is closing in and the rats are the ones running it. Nowhere does this feel more apparent than in the banger that is ‘Escobar’, its dark, its epic, but most of all its a song that you’ll find your self head banging to, yet still you feel like something or someone is watching and controlling you from within every line.

Just when you think you might get some relief from the underground horror madness thats engulfed you ‘Android’ hits your senses with a Space Oddity, or is that Space Oddyssey, moment, rise of the robots surrounded by riffs, bass lines, and drum beats that would feel at home backing lesser mind blowing stuff, but as you’ll always find in LoGOz music, easy is never an option. As if this isn’t a ride to the death already, we then hit the down ramp into the depths of the fucked up head of someone with a need to express the anguish it feels in this world, but as always your blow is softened by some special licks and chops from guitars that just sore above and around it all. In ‘Version’ you’re left to pick up the pieces of a broken world that might just be in your head, but most likely isn’t!.

If you are an existing fan this latest EP will open a new chapter to a band that has always had and still does have a sound that is LoGOz, but never stops growing above it all. These four new tracks put them right up there atop the pile where they have always belonged. You can drop over to the band’s Facebook for everything you need.
