Erotic Secrets of Pompeii have today released their new single and video, Bring Me Back From The Black Beyond, that is an anthemic ear crusher drenched in pomp and severity. Anchored by a colossal dual synth guitar riff and a tainted goth-disco beat, the track is a desperate final plea from a lover stranded in the afterlife. Part Joy Division, part Goldfrapp, part Kasabian, part Rocky Horror. Bring Me Back From The Black Beyond conjures allusions to Yeats at his most apocalyptic through a smog of fuzz bass and smeared makeup, while melding genres into a subversive dancefloor anthem.

Bring Me Back From The Black Beyond is as histrionic as it is hook-laden, as fatal as it is bombastic, but with love at its core. This is a song that could just as easily be heard blaring from the gates of Hades as from the football terraces or the death disco. Erotic Secrets of Pompeii will be appearing at Monmoth’s Devauden Festival on the 23rd May and will be appearing alongside Joe & The Shitboys at Newport’s Le Pub on the 29th May.
