Filmed at Rockaway Park, the subversive Punk Rock DIY cultural haven on the outskirts of Bristol, UK, the union of art, music and nature the venue represents was the perfect location to shoot the video for Beans on Toast’s new single, Pelican Crossing. The track is taken from Beans on Toast’s forthcoming new album, Kill Them With Kindness, that is due for release on December 1st via BotMusic. Still very much in the style we have come to know and love, though this time the music is brought to life by his new band, The Beans on Toast Band. Despite its dry and observational lyrics on the absurdities of modern life, Pelican Crossing is a jaunty, bright song with tinkling keyboards, joyous rhythms and melodic hooks for days. Beans on Toast is currently on tour and will hit the road with his full band in March 2026, you can view the tour dates and purchase tickets here.

“Pelican Crossing is a song about the absurdities of the modern world and the appalling redesign of Pelican Crossings across the whole of the United Kingdom. Negligence or plain corruption? That’s for you to decide. This album is a bit of a juxtaposition, as is the title. There are songs that deal with the current state of the world. Wars, maniac leaders, the rise of AI and the fall of the establishment. Then there are songs about trees, late nights in music venues, art, love and my new cat. As usual, it’s a time stamp of my thoughts and feelings from the past year on planet Earth.” (Beans on Toast)
